Written Poem: The Hard Knocks – Poet Nazir

The Hard Knocks

When I set foot and never come back

I’m not away, just sip of a sleep

A gait with closed oculars, means I’m stuck

Tears tickling beneath will sweep

…and wash away memories of track.

I left something

In my jacket, a coin

Oh sorry, I left nothing

In the dreams, I join

together the broken glasses.

Tell my fam’y not to importune

It’s jus’ a long sleep

Sum’on the smiles(memories) from my friends

And tell them how it ends

That I ‘m gone asleep.

I vacated to feed the table

But the connection betrayed my cable

So tell my blood to soothe

I’ll wait on the adjacent path to say ‘Hi’

But for now, it’s a ‘bye’.
