Written Poem: Lies – Poet Nazir

Lies

Lies

In a world of peace

I hear the words

That cracks my heart to pieces

Shattering in despair.

Peace

In a world of lies

That shadows in silence

If it really answer fools

Then I’m in my element.

Say

Speaking quietly

And loudly hurting my feelings

I wish to know wherefore

In frightness, I’ll fear to disbelieve.

Quietness

Sealing a wounded heart

Doming secrets from decades ago

A thin vessel of heavyweight falsehood

That worry my quest to know the truth.

I pretend to not care

The lie, prevarication, the pretence

Tears drowning deep within me

My last words feels so fresh at dawn

Even when you glance smiles on my face

Never believe your sight.
