Tug of War was a game brought into existence several years ago. It was a team event in the Summer Olympics at every Olympiad from the year 1900 – 1920. Initially, the tournament was joined by groups called Clubs. One country is eligible to participate in more than one club in the game, making it credible for one country to earn multiple medals at the end of the competition.

This happened in the year 1904, when the United States of America took all three medals home, and then in 1908 when the podium was inhabited by three British teams.
Sweden was also among the prime countries that had only two medals, one as a member of the mixed team. During Tug of War’s reign as an Olympic sport, it was deemed to be part of the Olympic athletics program, although the sports of Tug Of War and athletics are now considered different.
