The Lingering Disquiet a Poem By Poet Nazir

The Lingering Disquiet

Written By Poet Nazir

(A poem directed to the conflict that aroused between Ukraine and Russia. May it cease now!)

We, with a hardened steeping heart

Close our eyes to recall

The spicy smiles

The days at the morgue

And the lifeless days we depart.

We have awoken the realm of possibilities

Discharging off bullets in realities

Tasting the dose of our thumbs

And taking sides in a steaming haste

Why must we fight to test powers?

Let the lingering disquiet cease

To reminisce the times with peace

If the strings of love strives

Our adoration melt coals of appreciation

To blin the flying bullets off duty.

Not the first time to sacrifice peace for war

But this hath crossed the days from afar

To distress the calmness of our nights

Mornings without greetings

And nights without sleep.

The violent is an awoken death

Forcing tears out; heart pelting in great sorrow

The men in front; a husband with a beloved wife

A shelter to a destitute family

And a citizen to an ardent religion.

After the massacres

Let medals award the conquerors

And let the blood flood the bones of the departed

Let the nation hail the vessel in order

And let their decisions haunt them an advise.

When this is over

The brutality shall swim the news

Tatter the world with an absolute peace

And tell history the false truth with ease

Today’s a day in blue; a black day in February.
