30 Social Life Rules That Will Help You Live Peacefully With Everyone

While living in the same society with different people, we might one way or the other offend one another. We have to know that, we mustn’t allow our ego to weigh our thoughts. We must always stand for one another. Life is just a breath away. These social life rules will generally help you live with everyone in a much peaceful and respectable manner in the society.

30 Social Life Rules That Will Help You Live Peacefully With Everyone

  1. When at the restaurant with a lover or any other person, never order for the most or even an expensive dish on the menu when you’re being taken out for lunch/dinner.
  2. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’, ‘Don’t you have kids?’, ‘Why didn’t you buy a house or a car?’, ‘Why don’t you buy a car?’ NOTE: Verily, that’s not your problem!
  3. Don’t call or phone someone more than twice in a row. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they are unavailable or doing something important to them. Don’t assume they are trying to ignore you or feel big.
  4. Payback money that you have borrowed. Never wait for the person that borrowed you to ask for it. It generally shows your integrity and character. The same thing goes with anything you borrow. Try and make a settlement as soon as possible without delay.
  5. Always open the door for the person approaching behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior, younger or older. You don’t reduce in age or position just by treating someone right in public. It proves how humane you are.
  6. If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays for the ride, try paying next time. Don’t try to look smart.
  7. Accept diverse opinions. Remember 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, a second opinion is good for an alternative. Don’t be bossy!
  8. Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to freely express themselves. Hear them out and try making deductions and sampling what they said. Filter out what’s necessary in their talk.
  9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never repeat it. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you’re.
  10. Say “thank you” whenever someone is helping you or helps you.
  11. Always praise people or a person publicly and criticize privately. That’s absolute maturity.
  12. Never comment on someone’s weight whether on social media or in real life. Just say, “You look fantastic”. If they want to talk about losing weight, they will and that’s when you can get to help them. Their body isn’t yours. If you’ve lost weight, that’s your choice. If they want to, they’ll.
  13. When someone shows you a photo or any multimedia item on their phone, don’t swipe left or right or scroll up or down. You never know what’s next. It might be something private or confidential that you’re not supposed to see or watch. Privacy is very important. It’s a personal cell phone.
  14. Don’t ask anyone who tells you they have a doctor’s appointment what is it for, just say “I hope you’re okay”. Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their health problems that might be private. If they want you to know, they’ll do so without your inquisitiveness.
  15. Treat the cleaner or janitor with the same respect as the CEO or the owner. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect and kindness.
  16. If a person is speaking to you, it is rude and indecent to be staring at or using your phone. Just concentrate for a minute or two. You won’t be there forever.
  17. Never in your life advise someone until you’re asked to. Also, never forcefully tell someone to heed your advice. You don’t force it.
  18. When meeting someone(a colleague, co-worker etc) after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, never ask them their age and salary.
  19. Always mind your business unless anything involves you directly or is directed to you. Just stay out of it.
  20. Help someone freely. Don’t help them because you’d also seek their help in the future.
  21. Remove your sunglasses or hat/cap when speaking with anyone on the street. Not doing so is a sign of disrespect. Moreso, eye contact is a prominent thing during a one-on-one conversation.
  22. Never discuss your wealth or accumulation in the midst of the poor. Similarly, never discuss your children in the midst of the barren.
  23. After reading a good message try to say “Thanks for the message”.
  24. Know that, advice is not meant to change someone, they are personal opinions of how one could change.
  25. ‘Appreciation’ remains the easiest way of getting what you don’t have.
  26. If you’re being angered by someone, the best thing to do it, keep mute, never retaliate or better still, leave the premises.
  27. When dealing with people, it is vital to listen more than you watch them. Listening gives you the needed attention to remember when possible in the future.
  28. Don’t try to take advantage of good people. You might think it’s good for you but another way around, you’re teaching them to be the worst people. No one liked to be used.
  29. Have the shame of begging on your face. Don’t be used to seeking help always. Also, while seeking help, be sure not to be disrespected or tagged with a bad name. Therefore, it is ok to seek help but be careful from whom.
  30. If you see someone struggling, help them. Don’t wait to be asked before you do. Reason? Some people are shy enough to ask for help. That’s not pride or pomposity. That’s who they are or how they were raised.
