How To Speak Fluently – 5 Steps

Know What You Are Going To Say And Rehearse Towards It.

It is vital to know what you’re going to say to the audience. You should also have about 80% idea and understanding about the topic for which you’re going to talk about. After you’re done drafting what your speech would be about, you need to work on it. Read through over and over again and make sure you’re sure that, everything is ok. If you need to make necessary corrections or changes, do so before time runs out.

After you’re certain about the draft, now, it is time to learn how it’s going to be delivered to the audience. Practising the manner you’re going to deliver the message to the people counts so much to tell you how prepared you are. Work on your performance for days before the main event. If you can, memorize everything(if you can), most people like myself do that. It helps to freely talk, deliver and express yourself better. You can also choose to practice or rehearse with friends or record your activity on a camera. That works too.

Breathe Slowly and Deeply

You can do it. Have that spirit in you. Even though, you might feel a bit pressured, if you’re not used to it. To get the show started, just breathe in slowly and deeply. Don’t ask yourself how it’s going to be done. Just go before the audience and serve them. Don’t think about how the audience is going to feel about your delivery. Just tell them what you came to boldly and confidently. If you find yourself panting or breathing heavily, there is a possibility that your performance will be maladroit. If it persists for a couple of seconds or minutes before you go on the spot, you might want to reconsider taking a short break.

So it is very important to practice the breathing process to help you relax while delivering your speech or performing.

While performing or delivering your lines to the audience, leave spaces in between your speech. Don’t overflow them like you’re rushing to leave the place.

Be Focused On What You’re Saying

The divert could get slippery if you happen to be a newbie. Sometimes, the hardest part of taking before a crowd, is you might be distracted as you speak. You don’t always get it so easily. You might end up getting lost on what you’re even saying.

To not find yourself wanted and distracted by what you’re saying, be focused on yourself and your message. Don’t lend your attention to the audience. The moment you allow yourself to be puzzled, you’ll end up messing and that’s all on you. This is why it is very important to practice entirely before the day of the event.

To stay focused while delivering;

1. Talk slowly and in the correct pattern

2. Keep spaces in between your delivery

3. Be humorous just to catch up with where you’re.

4. Be creative and innovative.

Talk Aloud & With Confidence

Every good speaker speaks with despotic braveness and confidence. You must first have confidence in yourself. If you speak like a coward or in a low tone, your audience might not what you well and this will automatically down your personality. To be very confident does not mean to rush. Your delivery should be excellent and sail smoothly.

If you’re nervous, take your time, a deep breath and bounce back again. This is because your audience needs to hear and understand whatever you say.

Engage Your Audience When Possible

If your audience is familiar with a particular catch-phrase, you can introduce it to them. Once your audience feels excited about your delivery, you’re almost done getting it done and dusted. While you talk, you can seek their assistance with something you’re talking about more comically or funnily. Don’t be too rigid. Be flexible, open and pop out some smiles.

While you talk to them, get them excited and entertaining. Let your talk flow and let them feel your presence. If you’re able to catch up with them, your job is done.
