Pierre-Auguste Renoir, born on 25th February, 1841 and sadly passed on on 3rd December, 1919 was one of the aces and prolific French artists who were a pioneer and also a leading painter of the art movement Impressionism. He was very active during the half of the 19th century and early 20th century. Pierre-Auguste has invented many artistic techniques together with Claude Monet who showed interest and became linked with the movement including the practice of outdoor painting; use of bright colours to represent light and atmospheric effects; the sketch-like technique of using broad, loose brushstrokes. Pierre later detached himself from the movement after a while and drew motivation from classical art.
