14. The Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park in Tulare County, California, USA has the General Sherman Tree. It is the world’s largest tree, measured by volume. It stands 275 feet (83 m) tall, and is over 36 feet (11 m) in diameter at the base. Sequoia trunks remain wide high up. Sixty feet above the base, the Sherman Tree is 17.5 feet (5.3 m) in diameter. Toyota company took an inspiration from it and named it after its car. It is estimated to be around 2,300 to 2,700 years old.
15. In its first year in 1886, Coca Cola sold only nine (9) servings per day and twenty-five (25) gallons throughout that year. Now the company sells more than four (4) billion bottles every day. Never give up.
16. An eight million dollar ($8,000,000) Monet painting after a man punched it. This occurred in 2012 at the National Gallery of Ireland. It took two (2) years to repair. The man who did it, Andrew Shannon, claimed that he accidentally hit it when he fell. Security cameras showed otherwise and he was sentenced to six (6) years in prison. The painting is Argenteuil Basin with a Single Sailboat, done in 1874.
17. During World War Two (WWII), Jews in Budapest were brought to the edge of the Danube, were ordered to remove their shoes. Men, women and children were chained together three at a time and one was shot. Then, all three were pulled, falling into the river below. Sixty (60) pairs of iron shoes now line the river’s bank, a ghostly memorial to the victims.
18. The world’s largest container ship, Evergreen’s monster called “Ever Ace.” Built this year, the ship can carry 23,992 standard containers at a time.
19. Meet Sultan Moulay Ismail Ibn Sharif who had more than six hundred (600) children. He was a direct descendant of Prophet Mohammed. He ruled Morocco from 1672-1727, as the second ruler of the Alaouite dynasty. He holds the Guinness World Record for the “Most Children Fathered By A Man”. His children still rule Morocco till today.

30. In 1938, eighteen (18) year-old Korean, Yang Kyoungjong was conscripted by Japan to fight against the Soviet Union during World War II. In 1939, he was captured by the Soviets and sent to fight against the Germans who also captured him and sent him to fight against the Americans, but in 1944, the Americans captured him and kept him as a Prisoner of War. Kyoungjong is, to date, the only soldier in recent history to have fought on three sides of a war.
